ARI SETH COHEN FROM AVANCED STYLE BLOG IS IN PARIS !

I have first heard about Ari's blog ADVANCED STYLE on French TV several months ago : it was like love at first sight ! So I went on internet to have a look at it, now it is on my blog roll -and I just have 4 :).
Ari is a photographer from NY who 'hunts' in the streets for ladies with what he calls 'Advanced style': fun ladies, ladies with passions. Reading his blog gives you energy !
So I wrote Ari to compliment him, would send him articles talking about his work each time that one was showing up here in France. Also introduced him to Iris Apfel, who he interviewed later on.
He is in Paris this week, to do a video with one of our TV Chanel, Canal +, so he wrote to me and asked whether I knew ladies with 'advanced style'. I said 'the only one of my area is my mother', which is true: she is 71, still looks like a young fashionata, she is fun, talks to everybody and has sooooo much energy !
Ari came to visit our place and shot my mother in the streets and in the park near our place.
We have had so much fun ! and Ari is the most charming man :)

THE POWER OF BLOGS: IRIS APFEL TOUCAN REPRO IS OUT !

Hello Everyone,

This an update for all the readers, bloggers, friends from everywhere who have followed this story since the last 48 hours ! 
I got a phone call from Brad Bohnert from HSN yesterday evening, telling me how sorry was his company for all the trouble they caused us, that they have decided to take the toucan pin out of Iris Apfel for HSN jewelry collection.
He also said that he will publish this new on their facebook page so everybody can read it.
He said that Iris Apfel has called them, it is a misunderstanding, she has purchased the toucan pin in a flea market and thought it was a vintage piece ! 
This is very funny indeed. I am French and my English is quite approximative but I don't picture a Palm Beach show as a 'flea market' : am I right ?
Of course HSN will launch Iris collection on their site in September, so they are protecting them, her and their business, but this is still a big lie.
Iris collects our jewelry, we went to her place and she showed us the pieces that she bought in Palm Beach, so she perfectly knew what she was doing. 
I have read some comments on Atlantis home blog, as Judy is the first who announced the 'good new' : I am happy that readers were not fooled with the 'flea market' excuse.
ANYWAY, the main thing is that they won't be selling the repro toucan pin, and I have found out with this affair how nice people cared about it, sending encouragement messages and advices : from the bottom of Fernand's heart and mine, we will never forget it, I wish we could all meet to celebrate !
This victory is not our victory, it is the victory of all the creators in this world who are working with their heart and soul, who are small and unknown. I hope that it will help them and give them hope that something can always be done, we are not always David in front of Goliath !
With the power of blogs nowadays, it looks like anybody can be heard, and not only the powerful people or companies.
We are extremely grateful to JANE and JUDY ALDRIDGE from blogs SEAOFSHOES and ATLANTIS HOME, without who this would probably have not been possible. 
We didn't ask anything, they immediately went into the battle as soon as they got this new; Jane's father is a lawyer so may be it is in her genes ?:)

ONE OF OUR DESIGNS COPIED BY IRIS APFEL FOR HSN !!!

Hello everyone,

One of our customers from NY has forwarded us a link yesterday, anouncing the launch of an exclusive jewelry line by Iris Apfel for HSN.
I had never heard about this company, but with a little research, I have found out that they have a leading online sale site, and also sell on TV !! so it is VERY BIG indeed.


What a shock for me when I clicked on the link ! : IRIS HAS COPIED ONE OF OUR PIECES !
She has purchased a toucan head pin from one of our customers several years ago in Palm Beach FL, she lives there half of the year.
I don't understand how can such a thing happen, Iris is 89 so I can not help myself but to find her some excuses -should I ?-, but there is someone in this business chain, who has seen the tag at the back with our name on it and still copied it ! This is such a shame !


Of course I have to talk to HSN people, I tried yesterday but could just get in touch with their customer service for orders. Also talked to Iris who could just wonder how my customer knew about it, telling me that she didn't buy the pin from me, and 'what we should do about it' ! She was supposed to call back : I am still waiting !

I believe that there is a fight coming in a near future : I am ready..
